SMALL GROUP LEADER FORMATION SERIES

We have been working towards this time as a parish ever since theArchdiocese launched the Synod listening sessions back in 2019. As we move towards Synod Implementation, we are in need of small group leaders.
Just as Jesus sent out the 72, why not aim for 72 and more to be part of this small group training experience at St. Victoria. We’ve been in conversations with a number of people and it appears we already have our 72, but we are looking for more and we will take everyone who wants to be a part of it. You might be wondering, “How will I know what to do as a small group leader?” Good news, that’s exactly the idea behind this training.

The Small Group Leader Formation Series begins on Sunday, September 17 and will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm in Elstan Hall. They will meet for training at the same time every following Sunday through October 29. Each session will include times of prayer, teaching and sharing. Small group leaders will play a key role in the overall Evangelization efforts of our St. Victoria Parish Family. Keep in mind that if you attend the Formation Series and, at the end, you decide it’s not for you, that is not a problem. You can walk away having received some beautiful formation and then possibly be available for some additional parish Evangelization opportunities at a later date.

Just as Jesus did, in this Synod process, the pastors throughout the diocese have been asked to choose their “12 Apostles”. A special word of thanks to my “Peter, James and John”, namely Kathie Brown, Greg Butler and Linda McGerr who are acting as my executive team in implementing the details of this Synod process. I am grateful for the whole team giving of themselves to lead us to this important juncture. Now, if you feel like you are being called, join us as we all walk together to better know Jesus.

Though final details are still being worked out, those who have been trained will lead their own small groups for several weeks during Lent. The idea is to have such interest and momentum, that the small groups continue on their own beyond the initial series. Please see the information below for more specifics.
