Baptism

St. Victoria embraces the opportunity to share our Baptismal call with all.  We celebrate the sacrament of Baptism for infants one weekend a month.  On these weekends, Baptisms are held during all Masses and also after the 5:00 p.m. and 10:45 a.m. Masses.  Special arrangements can be made for children of school age or adults who wish to be Baptized.  St. Victoria does not Baptize during Lent, however, exceptions are made in case of emergencies.

Baptism preparation classes, or ”Jordan Nights”, are offered four times a year.  It is required that parents attend this night before scheduling their Baptism date and they are encouraged to attend prior to their child’s birth.  Both parents are encouraged to attend Jordan Night and pre-registration for the class is required.  It is also required that at least one parent be a registered member of the parish.   (Parents are exempt from class attendance if they have attended a Baptism class at St. Victoria in the last five years.)   Godparents are also encouraged to attend Jordan Night.
