In reaching out as the face and hands of Jesus here at St. Victoria, our Minnesota March Food Share Drive saw St. Victoria collect over 1,152 pounds of food and $2,202 in cash donations. All of this was delivered to the Bountiful Basket Food Shelf in Chaska where it is shared with families so they can put food on their tables. In a typical month, this food shelf distributes over 25,000 pounds of food to over 1,200 individuals.
“Rediscover” is a new outreach evangelization and catechesis initiative of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Archbishop Nienstedt shares that converting hearts begins with “encountering the person of Jesus Christ — it has to be that personal relationship. So it’s not just a question of getting people into the doors of the church. We have to get them to fall in love with Christ.” A series of opportunities will follow over the next several months, including book clubs, a faith speakers series and an archdiocesan-wide celebration of the Catholic faith. Author Matthew Kelly offers a spiritual guide to living with passion and purpose and shows how we can become “the best version of ourselves” through the beauty of Catholicism. There are extra copies available–stop by the church to pick up yours and begin your journey of rediscovery.
St.Victoria launched the new look for its website on October 10. Our goal is to keep you connected and up to the minute with the many events that makes St. Victoria a community that reaches out as the face and hands of Jesus.
