MISSION STATEMENT
Lazarus Table is a benevolence fund established by St. Victoria Parish Family in 2020 to provide temporary cash and/or in-kind assistance to families and individuals who find themselves facing significant economic hardships, whether due to unexpected job loss, injury, disease, casualty loss or other occurrences. Aligned with St. Victoria’s mission to reach out as the face and hands of Jesus, Lazarus Table seeks to offer loving assistance and accompaniment to persons and families, primarily within the area served by St. Victoria Parish Family, by providing grants for housing costs as well as food, medical, utility, job search and urgent repair costs.
WHAT'S IN A NAME?
In Luke 16, Jesus tells a parable of a nameless rich man and a poor man named Lazarus. In life, the rich man did nothing for poor Lazarus, not even permitting Lazarus to eat the scraps that fell from his table. After death though, it was Lazarus who ate at the heavenly banquet table, while the rich man was excluded. The Lazarus Table fund is modeled after the ideal suggested by Jesus in this parable: If those who have much in this life lovingly invite to their table those in need, like Lazarus, then we may all share together in the joy of the heavenly banquet table. HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?
St. Victoria Parish Family has a received an incredibly generous donation to help those in need who reside primarily in the area we serve. We encourage anyone facing a significant financial challenge to contact Deacon Ray Ortman in the Parish Office (952-443-2661) and let us know how we can help. Anyone contacting St. Victoria Parish Family for support will be heard. All requests will be treated with dignity and confidentiality.
A simple set of guidelines will be followed to determine grant assistance from Lazarus Table to further the mission of the fund, whether it be for food, shelter or any other specific needs. An application form will be available soon to request assistance from our Lazarus Table fund.
HOW YOU CAN HELP SOMEONE IN NEED
St. Victoria Parish Family invites other members of our parish family to join us in this effort through their own donations so that we can perpetuate this ministry for many years to come. 100% of every dollar we receive will go directly to someone in need.
